That is exactly how I did it except at the very start I don't even bother jumping on the block right in front of my character just double jump...
First you don't need to get the briefcase to get 3 stars. I just double jumped from my starting possition then wall jumped off the wall right...

I double jump then wall jump off the wall just above where you start. Then an air attack to get some more distance then another jump and slide...

An easier way is when you are on the block under the thing that shoots 3 bullets is to jump to the wall on the left then wall jump off of it then...
Never mind, finished all impossible missions with 3 stars and briefcase for all levels except the one that is missing. :D
To get lots of distance make sure you attack in mid air after you double jump.
