Yeah you should just be able to plug it in and hit "update". Just don't try syncing with that computer. But the firmware update is fine to do...
Something I see asked about a lot from gamers after a game is released, is an option to flip the controls in games. For left handed people etc....

Yeah the rubber-banding is really annoying.
