Interesting I didn't actually consider using OpenFeint but I don't see why not... I'll have to look into it.
I did play with the idea of having it 1st person view but couldn't come up with a way to make it as entertaining as top down is.
I'll definitely try to keep the gameplay as simple as possible while still giving a little more option to the player. It will be 2D top down...

or a rebel :) The image stored in your photos is as high res as it gets. Any zoom would make it blurry. You'd need a zoom lens to do it right. :)
Just take a normal picture... zoom in with the pinch controls later and take a screenshot of the zoom (top bottom buttons together) it's free...
