Shame I wasn't up in time, as this looks like a great game from the video, and I love the Earth destroying concept, too. :p
I'd have to say you're more than succeeding at your goal (!) of making this one quite unique, both from a gameplay and personality standpoint....
It was worth every penny at $2.99 and is a steal at a buck. Great looking game, lots of fun, and plenty of levels. :)

Had this on my device and played it frequently for ages, and can easily recommend picking it up if you haven't. Great fun!

I was always more of a C64 person given the better colors, but games like I Am Level make it work regardless. Go for it.
