Most of my units are high cost, and do I diversify my color combos? All my other units are low leveled since I can't find a good way to level them.

I got about 80 stones myself and have the same problem at rank 20ish. I'm having a rough time leveling units or knowing which ones I should raise....
I just hope they continue updating it.
