I've had gold gear and gold cards from chests, just VERY rarely . With knight penny and 40% rarer cards + 45% rarer gear but very very rare....
I'd recycle them all... yeah I have tons of gear with over 100% but only chest related...
I haven't seen any gear over 90% except for my 180% more chests....

I would not spend 75 gems on Aziz, I have Knight penny. Less cards / gear but better quality is better than more garbage.
