Posted this over on GAF, but it bears repeating, and since there's a good chance the developers will peek their head(s) in, I'll quote myself...
Not really a platformer. It's more of an adventure game. It has some of the adventure elements of, say, Metroid, but that's its focus, not action....
I get the sense the game was made with the intention of making a solid game to sell, rather than being a creation born of inspiration and passion....
