Actually whatever fight you have upon receiving the energy will save it, I probably just shouldn't Log out and fight 1 battle once I get the energy
I think the sending energy to friends now works as I just got 50 energy from friends, but as I exit the game and went back in, the energy is gone...
Daily quests give you 25 green gems so acquiring 100 isn't that hard :)
