Try running New York to Beijing instead, using LA and Chicago to feed it with layovers. Equal either side then - both got 2 class 3's feeding them.

I disagree. You don't need to be there the second it lands. It makes a big difference to profit per hour just for normal gameplay as well.

Yes, most definitely! It goes well with the weight reduction, to make sure you still make good profit. I only buy a plane when I can fully upgrade it

ah. as akpak said above... You get more layover slots, and more jobs... Upgrades make the most difference to class 3 airports. Upgrading a class 1...
