The game isn't nerfed if you don't buy Rez scrolls. It is the same as earlier version but you have more benefits when you use Rez scrolls.

Use Bleed and Storm of Blood when you have a chance. Just avoid all elemental spells by running around and you'll be fine.
Just find any cave with lots of bats, they are easy to kill and to grind on. There is a lot of bats spots to loose time on.
Just grind with Ann combined with Heine in support on bats in caves, do many runs and she'll lvl up quite fast, just make sure you have enough...
