It means that friend has the floor being used in the contest
They really do need a rename feature. It gets a little tedious to have to delete someone, retype their code, and rename them.

Every time you play a game in someone else's tower, they get tipped 1 chip I think a person can tip a friend one chip per day but I'm not so sure...
