By "loose" I don't mean the controls, but the whole jumping mechanics.
The C64 original game had the same "loose" feeling to the jumping. Closest thing to SMB you could get, but still not perfect.
I depleted all my lives in World 1-9 and the game said "Game Over". Much to my surprise however I was able to continue with full 5 lives right off...
