Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. I got busted last week for not including the obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle game update of the week, and my sentence is another ten years of doing these articles. Well, we’ll make the best of it somehow. I have a good bunch for you to check out this time as you get your week started. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!
The Greedy Cave, $0.99 Let’s start off with a light update. Just a little one to get us going. So little, in fact, that I am having to stall just to make sure there is enough text here to not mess up the formatting. That should do. This new update to The Greedy Cave adds the new Fireworks Carnival activity, replaces the Spring Festival scene, and adds a new Naga. (Ed. Note: This still felt a little short to me so I’m just going to go ahead and type a sentence of my own to stretch things out a bit. Thanks for reading our amazing content.)
Tetris® Beat, This update for Apple Arcade’s Tetris Beat has a variety of items in it to go over. First up, some new leaderboards. There are also some new option, improvements to the UI, and some bug fixes. Okay, now to the good stuff. There are four new songs in the game from D. Tiffany, Importz, Voli Contra, and The Fresh Crew. New tunes to clear those lines to are always welcome, especially in this version of Tetris.
AFK Arena, Free As always with an AFK Arena update, there’s quite a lot in here. It starts with a new Lightbearer hero in the form of Scarlet: The Arcane Shadow. Scarlet brings a new test play and Bountiful Trials event, as all new characters tend to of late. This update also includes a new skin for Rowan: The Roamer that you can get by playing an event or by spending some cash. There’s a new campaign chapter, some balance adjustments, UI tweaks, some new events, and more.
World of Tanks Blitzâ„¢, Free Now let’s take a peek in on the always-enjoyable World of Tanks Blitz to see what’s new in its world. A lot, as it turns out. There’s a new branch of Soviet light tanks for you to dig into, for all your scouting needs. A new mode called Big Boss has been added, and some new events to celebrate the Lunar New Year are ready to go. There’s also some business in here about Titan Labs and an armored Titan-150? I’ll let you folks sort that one out. It sounds like something above my pay grade.
Free Fire: 7th Anniversary, Free Here’s the latest hotness, or at least I’m led to believe it is. So what’s new in Free Fire? Well, the latest Clash Squad season kicked off a few days ago. There’s a new map available called Alpine, too. Try to complete some new in-game missions in the Battle Royale mode, with Hit Lists and Supply Runs added to the mix. There’s a new weapon called the Charge Buster, plus some balance improvements and other tweaks to round things out.
Homescapes, Free Uhh, wait a minute. Is Austin actually a spy? I knew he had it in him! In the latest event, you have to help Austin set up a spy lair in order to save Valentine’s Day somehow. Now, this seems counter-productive to the basic nature of a spy, but you need to decorate your yard with spy-themed decorations. Collect them all and you’ll get your very own Super Spy Car. Cool. There’s another new event that explores the love story of Katherine’s grandparents, revealed as you renovate the observatory. Finish half of the tasks and the observatory is yours for keeps. Still can’t get over Austin being a spy. What a world.
League of Legends: Wild Rift, Free The latest version of League of Legends Wild Rift seeds in a lot of upcoming stuff we’ll be seeing pop up over the next couple of months. Two new champs arrive when Sett and Yuumi pop into the Wild Rift. The game celebrates the Lunar New Year with the Lunar Revel event, where you might find some cool surprises waiting. A couple of new skins are coming, and so is the second season of Guild vs Guild. There’s more to see, but you’ll have to fire up the game to see all the nitty-gritty details.
FINAL FANTASY BE:WOTV, Free Fuhfuhbe War of the Visions gets some tweaks and adjustments in its latest version. The speed-up functions settings have been updated, and you can now sort your units by how much JP they are holding. There’s a new button that will take you directly to the Vision Star Exchange Shop, a nice little time-saver. Other than that, there are some improvements, bug fixes, and changes to things like the title screen. Nothing too big.
Oceanhorn 2, Big updates for this game don’t come along all that often, and this is certainly one of the bigger ones it has seen. It adds in a full collectible card game called Arcadian Tarock that you can play against any character you meet in the world. Collect all fifty cards and learn the ins and outs of becoming a Tarock master. Each card also includes information that helps fill out the lore of the Oceanhorn world. There are lots of ways to find new cards, so get searching. Other additions include a Treasure Radar for your map, some tweaks to the UI, balance adjustments here and there, and a bunch of general fixes and improvements. Cool update, and an easy win of the coveted UMMSotW award for this week.
Honkai Impact 3rd, Free We’ll finish up today with a look at the latest update to miHoYo’s other popular game, Honkai Impact 3rd. A new S-ranker, Silverwing: N-EX, joins the game. Don’t give it the cold shoulder or it will put you on ice. A Post-Honkai Odyssey gets a second chapter added to it, with a new open world and Squad 2 members. The next main story chapter should be coming soon, and a few new pieces of equipment have been added. And that’s the news!
That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
