‘Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier’ to Get 60fps Gameplay, Improved Controller Support, and More in Future Updates as Revealed by the Developers

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier (Free) finally released last month on iOS and Android for free. The 75 player battle royale featuring various elements from Final Fantasy VII and the series in general has since been updated to fix various issues and more, but it hasn’t received a major content or feature update yet. Square Enix posted a letter from the developers detailing plans for future updates to the game. These include various balance adjustments, improvements to controller support, an optional 60fps high frame rate mode, and more. Watch the Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier opening movie below:

The letter which you can view in full here by Shoichi Ichikawa (producer of the game) also mentions many bug fixes to address crashes and controller issues. The developers are prioritizing controller fixes in this order. I’m glad that a high frame rate option is being added for newer devices to allow 60fps gameplay. Barring that, character movement is being improved, customization options to the HUD are being added, and more. The letter also mentions changes to matching logic for ranked games.
