Developer Gemdrops revealed a brand new adventure game based on the Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp) series titled Laid-Back Camp Virtual. Laid-Back Camp Virtual will be released as Laid-Back Camp Virtual Lake Motosu and Laid-Back Camp Virtual Fumoto Campsite on multiple platforms this Winter. The developers describe it as a virtual camping adventure game but more gameplay details are unknown right now. On PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Laid-Back Camp Virtual will include VR headset support through PlayStation VR for PS4, Labo Toy-Con VR Kit for Nintendo Switch, and both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive for PC. The game doesn’t require VR though and it isn’t clear how the iOS and Android versions will include anything to replace the VR functionality. Laid-Back Camp Virtual features both Nadeshiko and Rin from Laid-Back Camp. Watch the reveal trailer for Laid-Back Camp Virtual below:
As of now, a release date hasn’t been announced. Laid-Back Camp Virtual will include Japanese audio with English, French, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) subtitle options when it releases worldwide on iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC platforms. For PC, it will be released on Steam. Gemdrops will reveal more information for the game in the future. Until then, check out the official English website for Laid-Back Camp Virtual here. A price point hasn’t been announced yet. For one thing, I’m glad this isn’t the usual anime licensed game from the looks of things. What do you think of the Laid-Back Camp Virtual trailer?
