Following an extremely long period of soft launch, Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight Mobile (Free) finally launched worldwide this past April, and it seems to be quite the popular option for those looking to kill and/or survive on the go. The mobile version of Behaviour’s hit console and PC game features the same 4 vs 1 asymmetric multiplayer where one player acts as a ruthless killer and tries to hunt down 4 hapless survivors. You win playing as the killer by… well, killing, and you win as a survivor by avoiding being killed and triggering certain actions in order to open an exit and leave the map. It’s pretty darn fun.
One of the hallmarks of the console and PC version of Dead by Daylight is the guest appearances of killers and characters from all manner of different horror properties, and this trend carries over into the mobile version as well, like when Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre was added to the game back in May. The game also features a number of original characters, and that is the topic of today’s update which Behaviour is calling the Cursed Legacy Chapter. It features new Survivor Yui Kimura, a Japanese street racer, and a new Killer named Oni who was on the path to being a legendary samurai like his father but a lack of honor and an “unforgiving need to kill and torture" caught the eye of The Entity, prompting him to bring Oni into the fog.
In addition to the two new characters, this update also includes the new and improved Crotus Prenn Asylum which is a realm in Dead by Daylight that’s comprised of two different maps: Disturbed Ward and Father Campbell’s Chapel. Finally this update brings the Summer Camp collection which features brand new outfits for Dwight Fairfield, Meg Thomas, The Nurse and The Trapper. As I have already mentioned, Dead by Daylight Mobile is a whole lot of fun and a very cool portable take on the console and PC game. The asymmetrical nature of the multiplayer and the game’s particular mechanics can take a bit of getting used to, and that has led to Behaviour adding in a special Training Mode last month which lets you come to grips with learning the game against bots instead of real life people that will laugh at your puny skills. It’s a great thing, and with it being free there’s no reason not to give Dead by Daylight Mobile a download and check it out if you haven’t done so already.
