Golf is usually a very “gentlemanly" sport, where the opponents watch each others’ plays without interfering much (maybe a loud cough or sneeze at just the right time at most). The upcoming Mini Golf Battle wants to make minigolf a bit dirtier by letting you “interact" with your opponent, where interact translates into hitting, bumping, and blocking your opponent’s ball. These kinds of “interactions" can definitely spice up a game of golf and turn it into a much more tactical game where you have to decide when to mess with your opponent and when to try and go for the win.
The game is played as a Messages app, so finding opponents shouldn’t be difficult. The game will launch with close to 30 holes, and the developers plan on adding more regularly. And, of course, you’ll have to survive the usual dangers of golf courses like bunkers, water obstacles, and the like. I don’t know how successful iMessage games have been, but in theory they are well-suited for multiplayer games. Mini Golf Battle will release August 21st, so get ready to mess with your opponent. And in the meantime, hop over to our forum thread for more info on the game.
