Pol Clarissou (who made Orchids to Dusk and contributed A Glass Room to the Triennale Game Collection (Free)) and Armel Gibson (who helped make Knife to Meet You with Robin Baumgarten, along with the gorgeous OASES) have been hard at work on Vignettes, and their “toyish surprise-o-rama" is set to roll up on the App Store on April 20th. This game is a real trip, and it’s a real blast when you see that lamp turn into something else. Whoa, dude.
I checked out the game at GDC, and it left me feeling totally zonked at it. This game is remarkably clever, and I could see Apple being really monstertrucked by this one, and rolling up a fat App Store feature for the game. It’s not just a wicked puzzle game, but it’s also got an adventure aspect as you discover new shapes and how they’re all connected. This game will get you flying to the moon, and you’ll want to check it out on April 20th. Until then, watch the footage from GDC:
