Earlier this month we took a look at Wooden Labyrinth 3D, a particularly well done take on the marble / labyrinth formula that differentiates itself from the herd by the inclusion of raised obstacles that must be jumped over with a shake of the iPhone or iPod touch. The game also provides a 3D perspective that shifts with the tilt of your iPhone. It plays well and “feels” right.
The developer has just released a “lite" version of the game [App Store] that features only a single level pack, as compared to the original’s full 100 levels. We would encourage any fans of the genre who haven’t already grabbed the paid original to download the lite version and give it a whirl.
See a gameplay video of the paid version for a feel of the action.

(The original Wooden Labyrinth 3D [App Store] is priced at $2.99 but will increase to $3.99 when a planned level editor is released to the public.)

I was constantly told I sucked at Bike or Die 2. Sadly I couldn't find much enjoyment from trying to repeat a level 150 times. Oh mrbass you are exaggerating 150 times. Actually I wish I was but I'm not that's why I hated Bike or Die 2 which I got for $3. Levels are great but way way too sensitive. Think it sold for $15 or $20 on the palm and most likely was worth it then as palm had buttons.
So out comes Space Bikers made by Bike or Die 2 twin evil brother and makes it easy for the masses. Unrealistic suspension that actually let's you drop from quite a distance and still live...whod've thought of that one. If you love Bike or Die 2 and love the challenge it gives you stay far far far away from Space Bikers as you'll waste your $1 bigtime. Those who are looking for some cool Elastomanio fun where you don't die every 10 seconds might just wanna pick up Space Bikers. I'm enjoying it so far. Can use accelerometer for tilt bike or press left or right. Up is gas and down is brake.
I bought this on a whim, I mean here I am awake at 6 o'freaking clock in the morning....what better do I have to do with my time?
Anyhoo, pretty fun game. While I understand Mr. Bass sentiments, I am a diehard BoD 2 fan, and like Space Bikers just as well. Great graphics here as well as interactive track objects (hit a row of books with tire, they fall like dominoes and you are riding on them as they go! Etc...).
Chillingo, Sir or Madam; I kindly request that, while implemented well, you make the onscreen controls "moveable" since when traveling right my thumb obscures my view. Thanks
Finger buttons can be moved, just look into Options.
I don't know maybe I'm nitpicking here but that whole background in the video, and pretty much everything else, just screams LittleBigPlanet. Not sure how I feel about that.
WAY TO MUCH PISH ON THE IPOD/IPHONE NOW LETS GET SOME PROPER QA GOING WITH DECENT CODERS EH PEOPLE.
@foolishwolf
Sorry...but I don't really see it. This doesn't look at all much like LittleBigPlanet. Unless you think the whole "tiny character in the real world" thing is original to Sony's game. It ain't. There were a slew of games on pre-PS3 consoles that had that idea.
My issue with this game is the same issue I have with so many of the physics based games: level design. Level design is usually rather poor in these games unless you LIKE sloooowwly going through levels and slooooowly positioning yourself over obstacles to move over them (as can be seen in the video for this game at various points, including going over the books). Y'know what would be far better? Something like Motocross Maniacs. That had stellar level design because there wasn't much to slow the player down. It was all ramps and loops and such. The player wasn't going spending (wasting, IMHO) time trying to drive over one obstacle. Instead they hauled ass and got through a variety of obstacles in that fashion.
I'm sorry...maybe it's just me...but I don't see the fun in driving a bike over a book. Is it more skill based? Sure. Is it fun? To me, not so much. To those of you who have fun with that sort of thing, I guess this is your game.
Okay, I've had ample time with this game now, thanks to Anton, the "virtual buttons" are configurable in the game options they are under language where it says orientation.
@ Spiff, I'm not trying to change your mind just wanted to give a little in game perspective. There are parts on each level where you have to try a bit to get coins or whatever but the levels are surprisingly big and IMO well constructed. Some of the levels I've played so far you get a blazing sense of speed as you go zooming up a ramp and crash through an obstacle then fall a long distance like a good ski jump. I find this to be a good title with many points to it's own merit, despite comparisons to other physics based racers/platformers.
As I state in my Appstore review, this game is comparable to an arcade version of BoD2.
Have Fun.
