A ‘Transformers’ MMO Based on the Toys Is Currently in the Works

TouchArcade Rating:

If you’re an 80s child like me, then you probably like Transformers – as long as the movies didn’t make you hate the franchise. I’ve been waiting for a good Transformers game to hit iOS, and even though we’ve recently got Transformers: Earth Wars (Free), which has pretty good reviews on the App Store, I’ve been waiting for a game that doesn’t have to do with base building. It looks like my wish will come true after all since Kabam and Hasbro have announced today that they are going to work together to create a new mobile game based on the Transformers franchise. More specifically, this game will be a triple-A MMO based on the Autobots and Decepticons.

We don’t have much more information on the game other than the fact that it will have both role-playing and strategy elements and it will be 3D. According to a Kabam spokesperson, the game will “span all of Transformers lore tied to Generations," and while it will have a bit to do with the Transformers movies, Kabam emphasized that this is going to be a Kabam/Hasbro game and not a Kabam/Paramount.

The game will be developed by the studio responsible for Marvel Contest of Champions, which is pretty promising since that was a well-made game. I’m hopeful that this game will be a fun way to play as your favorite Transformer (or Decepticon), but, of course, it remains to be seen. Expect it to come out sometime in 2017, hopefully sooner rather than later.

If people will buy totems, a vinyl pressing seems like a drop in the ocean but it's less the value in physical objects and just their appreciation for the game. Though if they decide to release on eight-track, come talk to me

Not only that, serious officianados believe vinyl actually delivers totally superior sound! That's why the love for it, not so much having a physical object in their hands, other than having art work, lyrics, and personal info to check out while listening to it. That WAS cool, though! I grew up with nothing but 33's, 45's, and 8-Tracks, but I got rid of my last turntable 30 years ago! No interest in going back again for me. Some guys I know, though, have spent twenty grand on a bad-ass set-up, swear by it, love to argue about it, and wouldn't have it any other way! Gotta admit, the full, deep sound when directly compared to present-day cd's and digital sound is very obvious, and most people don't get a chance to hear it on that nice of a system these days like that, but if you don't, the average Joe doesn't notice the difference much. You're used to what you get and you're good with it.
