In ‘Trucksform’, Only a Flying Truck with Guns Can Save the World

TouchArcade Rating:

Do you enjoy trucks? Would you enjoy trucks more if they had the ability to transform, adding guns, hover abilities, and a giant frickin’ drill to the front of said truck? That’s the universe that Trucksform promises, coming to iOS in mid-July. This is a 2D physics racer, where you drive through hilly landscapes and can do flips in the air, but with certain obstacles that require you using your different truck modes to get past.

So, if there’s an area that requires you to be off the ground, you go into hover mode. Need to destroy a target ahead of you that you can’t bust through? Then you bust out the guns. Having some close calls with brick walls? Bust out the drill and break on through to the other side. This is all in the name of keeping the Earth from exploding, so, y’know…don’t screw up. This one’s out on Android right now, and will be releasing on iOS for free on July 16th.

Wasn't this free a few weeks ago?

I have it installed, haven't played pay the first few floors, but that was over a week ago.

Might start paying after I'm done with Alchemic Dungeon

      1. Jared Nelson

An unofficial version called Pixel Dungeon: Rebirth was released at the beginning of June for free. However, it was taken down shortly after due to the official version being released by the game's original developer. This review is for the official version.

        1. Drexiel

Oh so i have the unofficial version then. If they are the same game then I'll wait a bit before buying the real version. Alchemic Dungeons is keeping me way too busy.

        2. shdwstar2417

Are there any differences between this paid version and the unofficial one ? I have the unofficial one.

          1. VirtualBoyFreak

The unofficial one lets you play both in landscape and portrait. The official one only in portrait, because there seems to be some kind of bug with landscape mode (in the unofficial one too). The dev said he's working on fixing it. I have both versions, and I paid for this one because I want to support the dev's work. The game is amazing.

With Brogue being one of my favorite games, I've been unable to put this down since it came out. So much fun.

    3. EZ Ice

Seems like this and alchemic dungeon are the same game with varying pixel art...no?

      1. tannerdactyl

They are very, very different. Alchemic is a Japanese Roguelike, which plays like a Mystery Dungeon game. Pixel Dungeons hews closer to games like Rogue and Nethack. They both have a similar dungeoneering setup, but mechanically they are pretty far apart.

This games looks and reminds me a lot of quest of dungeons which is great years after I bought everyone should check it out

Are we gonna get a tiny keep review????
Game looks good, downloaded but not tried it yet.....

    6. Panzer4000

Now I wait for Shattered Pixel Dungeon.

    7. gmattergames

Aren't potion/scroll effects random each new game? I was frustrated after first few runs thing I was noting the color/effects wrong, then I realized it wasn't me. Or am i confusing this with some other RL?

      1. Panzer4000

The effects of certain potions and scrolls do change, though it does seem some are at a greater chance of being a certain effect, such as, to me, Bistre potion seems to be commonly potion of liquid flame.

    8. josenilocm

Should I stop playing Nethack for this one ?

    9. EvilDucktator

I'm confused. The thread for the other one says that's the official one. Hope I didn't just pay for the unofficial one.

    10. T-REZ5000

This game was the only reason I still kept my old android phone.

    11. Nycteris

As soon as I finish The Enchanted Cave 2 I will nab this. Thanks!

It's the second android game I've played the most with shatteredPD being the first. Shattered pixel dungeon is a wonderful mod of pixel dungeon that has reworked almost every aspect of PD (classes, wands, etc and adds new items artifacts and fruits to cook.

    13. Dustrick

This was one of the games I kept on my Android phone, it was small, fast and fun.
