The TouchArcade Show – 210 – E3 Virtual Insanity

TouchArcade Rating:

LogoE3 is absolutely exhausting, and our overall exhaustion level is well represented in this week’s podcast, which was recorded immediately after the show floor closed yesterday. We chat about the coolest things we saw in mobile including accessories and devices, weird things at E3, and our experience with various VR demos. We’ll be back to normal episodes next week, so please stick with us through another episode with weirdo audio quality.

Don’t forget to shoot us emails with any questions, feedback, or anything else relevant or irrelevant to [email protected]. We read ’em all, and love decoding messages written entirely in emoji. As always, you can listen to us with the links below… And if you like what you hear, please subscribe and/or drop us a review in iTunes. Much appreciated!

Whenever I read intuitive control system or something similar I just imagine swiping all over my ipad and having my hand block the screen all the time due to the swipes. Swipe guestures probably work much better on the phones rather than the big screens. Imagine doing that on the rumored ipad pro where you have to swipe over your enemies to attack them.

Rant aside, this game looks pretty decent so far.

After E3 watching this im left with the thought, Are most games going to have a female protagonist now? Some feminists are just going to complain that the developers objectified her by showing side boob. Maybe if you didn't do it they would say you objectified her by covering her up too much. Oh well serves the traitorous mangina dev right.

Honestly, I've never really cared about the gender of the main character, but I admit that if I have to stare at the back of a character for hours, it might as well be a cool looking male character or a hot female.

Getting a bit ahead of the narrative, aren't you? Makes you look like you have an agenda....

I'm beta testing this game. And it is amazing to say the least. You can definitely go through the game without buying anything unless they tweak it after beta.

They will. That's how betas work.

Considering they have a F2P game out now that has zero pay walls, I doubt it, they do a good job of staying in contact with the community.

I've heard the opposite about their current game. That you reach a point that progress is frustratingly slow without a drip feed of cash. This is exactly what prevents me from even starting a F2P game with IAP currency.

I never ever had that problem. They gave away 6 star heroes(highest level character), along with the highest level armor/trinkets/weapons. They also had weekends where the cost for making heroes was drastically cut down. If you were patient, you could easily make 5-10 6 star heroes a month. Even if your were somewhere in the middle you make 3-4.

Looks cool! But I'm not playing many hack'n slash games lately. Probably because they're f2p. But it looks like it'll do fine without me.

I beta tested this game, and all I can say is wow, it really is amazing, the graphics are really something special, the skills are amazing, the classes seem pretty balanced, the way you upgrade things is super cool, the one thing that let the game down for me though was the multiplayer, I mean once in a dungeon it's great, but once you leave, all you get to look at is a character screen, there is no town or place to congregate and meet friends to have a chat or show off your new gear, you literally get a character screen and a chat box, which was a big let down for me, but hey it was only beta, maybe they can add this map for live :)
