‘Spinner Tronic’, a “Techno-Arcade Game,” Goes From Android to iOS Soon

TouchArcade Rating:

Perishtronic Studios last month released their game Spinner Tronic on Android, and now they’re working on bringing the game to iOS very soon. Spinner Tronic is described by developer Perishtronic Studios as a “techno-arcade game," which seems like a good way to describe anything derived from Super Hexagon ($2.99) as this game is. You control a spinner around a spinning game board, with different pie-shaped indicators popping up for you to try and tap on. Depending on which side of the screen you tap, you either keep spinning in that direction or spin back in the other one. Each indicator has different criteria to be removed, such as being hit multiple times, or tapping-and-holding, and so on.

The game has three different difficulty modes, with Alpha being the ‘easy’ one, Beta being faster, harder, and with new types of pieces to remove, and Omega making it difficult to even score any points at all. Seriously, good luck at that, it’s a brutal challenge.

There’s no release date for the game yet on iOS – you can pick it up on Android right now, and the game is currently running on iOS, so hopefully you’ll see it soon.

MFi... woohoo! Might give me a fighting chance to finish some of those bonus levels. Fantastic game, I hope the new content is IAP. I'd hate that they do all that extra work and not get paid...

      1. MasonHurst

Yeah I never finished a couple of those bonus levels either. Awesome news for a great game.

      2. borntodie007

Well, they said its a premium game that won't have any iap or ads. I want them to get paid too. If you wish to support them get their other games :).

Game is pretty short for 1.99 they may have realized that.If they made a 2 I would totally buy it.

This personally is my favorite Performer of all time on iOS. With the new content and a since launch probe of only$.99 this is the best bang for your buck! I wish this dev team is lavishly rewarded with millions of downloads! Low initial and sustained asking price of only $1, huge on content, Excellent presentation, spot on controls, and now massive content Hostess with no iap in sight? This is everything I see the gamers here asking for. Of everyone's money is where their mouth is, then these guys should be rich from the success of this labor of love!

My hat is off to you Gelato!

    3. bilboad

Woohoo, I'll finally get around to playing this now that it has MFi support. Thanks devs.

    4. Quazonk

Stoked to read this. Dev, if you're out there reading this, and that $0.99 price point isn't paying the bills, by God charge us $4.99 next time and keep the lights on at the studio if you have to! Fantastic game, can't recommend it enough.

    5. SpoomMcKay

This was my ios game of the year in 2014, it's an amazing game.

    6. Deckard74

Wow this one totally went under my radar, this is what I love about this site, there's always a new gem to be uncovered somewhere along the way. Thanks, I'll check this out!

    7. mycoolroy

Do they have an alternative control scheme?

      1. Guest

you know that you can position the controls anywhere you want them in the settings, right? I had to do that a few times because I kept accidentally jumping instead of attacking, but I have it set up perfectly now. If that still doesn't work, MFi support is available now, so you can get an controller like the SteelSeries Stratus

    8. Guest

awesome - working my way through that game right now

    9. Hero Killer Id

      Hellz to the yayah!

I was about to post that the game was merely okay and that I didn't know what the fuss was about.

Hen u realised I was talking about Super Heavy Sword.

So here's what I don't get - I played through this in it's entirety a few months back, and then deleted it. Today, after seeing the new content, I redownloaded it and assumed my saved game would be there. Instead, I'm starting all over. Isn't this the entire point of Game Center and iCloud? What gives?

      1. dancj

        Nit every game uses it.

    12. drunk_vader

A great update to even a greater game!

    13. Jetjet

Bought Rocket Warrior to support their great work !

Goblin Sword still remains one of my best purchases from 2014 !!!!

    14. daftman

This is great! I got the game early on but dropped out in the second big area because, well, my thumbs wander in the heat of the moment and then I just die a lot and that's no fun. But with MFi support I'll be back in the action. Good thing I never deleted it :)

So crazy I had this game in my phone for the longest time and just recently started playing it again and finally completed all of the levels 100% so coincidental.

    16. demod1

This was my favorite game of 2014 as well! The fact that the developer included the dying iCade controls in this update shows that they REALLY care about the fans. You have earned my respect and my loyalty. Long live GELATO!

    17. Stuart Wallace

Also got back into this recently which is a bizarre coincidence. One of the all time great iOS platformers, even with the odd thumb induced death!

    18. walz81

Great game, just wish my progress saved from my iPhone to my iPad.

    19. Adams Immersive

      iCade too, apparently!

    20. Arnold

Cool new Content. This game really is very fun. 😎
