Alright, while this isn’t really game related (I guess you type in games, so there?) it’s still a pretty rad heads up for anyone who is interested in fiddling around with third party keyboards in iOS 8. Swype (Free) is now free for a limited time. Often cited by Android users as a reason why they could never switch off ‘droids, Swype lets you type by swiping to letters on a keyboard instead of tapping the virtual keys.
So, for instance, typing “CAT" on a keyboard you’d obviously just tap “C", then “A", then “T". With Swype, you’t put your finger down on “C", drag it over to “A", then drag it to “T" and lift your finger up. Here’s the keyboard in action:
Personally, I don’t really dig it because I already have learned how to type so quickly already on iOS keyboards that re-learning Swype just slows me down too much and is sort of annoying. But, hey, if you’re in to experimenting with keyboards, were curious about Swype but didn’t want to drop a buck, or whatever else… Give it a shot.
