Gameloft’s over-the-top arcade racer Asphalt 8 (Free) has just received a major update adding in a brand new track, some new vehicles, a new Season with 74 new events, and improved Twitch streaming integration. First off is the new track, set in the Middle Eastern city of Dubai. It features plenty of shiny skyscrapers, lots of interesting jumps, and no doubt some secret shortcuts to discover. Along with the new track are 5 new vehicles to race, including a Mercedes Benz Biome concept car and the Nissan GT-R NISMO. Also new with this update is a 9th Season to complete with 74 new racing events. The Twitch streaming functionality that was baked into the game back in March has now been extended to the iPhone 5, the iPhone 5c and the 4th generation iPad. It’s hard to believe, but it’s been just over a year since Asphalt 8 was released. We absolutely loved it in our review from back then, and the game has only gotten better with numerous updates in the year that followed.

Asphalt 8 one of those games that’s just pure fun, and puts a smile on my face every time I fire it up. It’s free to download too, so if you haven’t taken Asphalt 8 for a spin yet now is as good a time as any to get behind the wheel.
