‘Hearthstone’ Expansion Curse of Naxxramas Pricing Details Revealed, $24.99 for All Content

TouchArcade Rating:

Since the expansion was originally hinted at, Hearthstone (Free) players everywhere have been speculating how much the expansion was going to cost. Well, Blizzard just gave us our answer. First off, players who participate in the launch event which will last around a month following the release of the expansion will gain access to the first wing, the Arachnid Quarter. After that, the rest of the wings can be purchased for 700 in-game gold each, or $6.99 in real money.

Here’s how it all breaks down:

So, it’s kind of neat, in that the more you buy with in-game gold the cheaper the rest of the content gets if you opt to spend some real-world money. Also, there’s a Heroic mode, like all World of Warcraft raids:

Once you’ve defeated all of the bosses within any given wing for the first time, you’ll unlock the Heroic mode of that wing. Heroic mode bosses are significantly more difficult than their normal versions, and they will prove to be a challenge for even the most veteran Hearthstone players. Defeating all of the bosses in Naxxramas on Heroic mode will unlock a new card back for your collection.

Still no exact date, of course, but something tells me if Blizzard is discussing these kind of details, it can’t be that far off.

This looks awesome. I so trust Donut to get the difficulty just right so it is challenging but not painfully so; in other words: fun! I will definitely support this premium game effort from them and I am glad they are deviating from their formula.

      1. Billy Ocean

yes, donut has that polish and consistency. trustable.

    2. Adams Immersive

That's great! Looks like a ton of variety in there.

    3. ImJPaul

😍😍😍 wow. Count me in as being excited! iOS is in DIRE need of a true castlevania experience.

    4. ScotDamn

Yep. This shows a lot of potential!

Donut Games + That trailer x Jared's game description = potential classic

Donut Games are my favorite iOS devs and I absolutely cannot wait for this. I love that after over 40 games they still are trying new things. They work their asses off to please their fans and rarely disappoint.

      1. C. Stubb

        -Nearly- forty games.

        1. smes3817

My mistake. Point still stands though...

This looks amazing. Definitely seeing inspiration from La Mulana in the aesthetic and setting. I hope they utilize touch controls properly rather than the gamepad interface that so many ios platformers tend to fall back on. This just moved to the top of my hype list.

      1. BrettArchibald

My thoughts exactly. This game looks amazing, but how the controls are implemented will make it or break it for me.

    7. Anotherkellydown

This looks really good! I'm a huge Metroid-vania fan too, and the good ones seem few and far between on iOS. From the video alone I'm most definitely going to pick this up when it's released. Pleasantly surprised Donut went this route.

Finally an ambitious project from Donut. Like their casual games, but is always nice to see some story and a sense of progress.

Can someone recommend a couple of Donut games (that they like or love) for me to check out. Sorry if I sound like a douche, but am not familiar with a lot of developers by name alone. Much appreciated.

      1. smes3817

Depends on what genres you like but Bubble Pig is one of their best for sure.

      2. C. Stubb

Jungle Crash Land for puzzle, Moon Rover for action, Superstar Chefs for platforming, and Castle Siege for strategy. You really can't go wrong.

        1. C. Stubb

It's actually Castle Smasher, not Castle Siege, sorry. And how could I forget Action Hero and Traffic Rush?

      3. Cilo

        Definitely Castle Smasher.

      4. evilabdy

Beach games and Sunday lawn seasons are my favorites

        TRAFFIC RUSH AND CAT PHYSICS!!!

Day one insta-buy. Even without knowing anything about the game it would have been. I have been a fan of these guys since their first projects and never have I been unsatisfied buying them on day one of their release. They also consistently add new content to their games and offer great customer support. Can't wait for this and all other Donut Games.

    13. Cookies

Been looking for another good metroidvania style game since Megatroid got a little too samey (I played that game for waaaaaayyy too long), and this looks like a ridiculously solid entry into the genre.

    14. ImJPaul

You know...Chair made my favorite castlevania-style game ever a few years ago called Shadow Complex. It only released for XBLA. I've always thought that game would be perfect on iOS. Hopefully that comes one day too.

    15. starski

This game looks amazing! I hope they implement mfi controls

    16. Illuminerdy

      Looks racist.

    17. Bool Zero

      They had me at "Metroidvania"!

    18. Stuart Nicholson

Looks like a cross between Spelunker and Montezuma's Revenge. A definite buy
