‘Autumn Dynasty Warlords’ Hits the New Zealand App Store, ‘Autumn Dynasty’ Still Free

TouchArcade Rating:

We already posted one freebie alert, but consider this what could be your last warning to download the fantastic RTS, Autumn Dynasty ($1.99) as the sequel just hit the New Zealand App Store. If things work how they usually do, this means we’ll be knee-deep in Autumn Dynasty Warlords in less than twelve hours at 11:00 PM Eastern for $6.99.

Warlords sounds like a great sequel, featuring 4X RTS gameplay, promising “more than 100 hours" worth. Additionally, the campaign is non-linear which is always a favorite feature of mine in any game. Oh, and, there’s randomly generated maps so you can play the game forever.

The developers have posted a video walking players through the game:

Here’s the NZ iTunes link if you’re in a region where the game is live, but, in the meantime you can hop in our forum thread where people are discussing the game.

Great game, keeps crashing on boot.

For the people having problems with the second boss :
1.- use your green cards first (push), then put the red cards behind.
2.- Always go for the calculator bonus. Get the big numbers and then turn the rest on 1 or 0. X the 1, + the 0.
3.- Join the club. Its just 2$ for really fun card drops :P

Maths in my freetime – no way 😄!

Maybe you should focus on "Englishs" in your "freetime" then....

          Math is American English
          Maths is British English

You need to get out of the US a little more.

"Maths" is a colloquial shortening of "mathematics".

Dividing would introduce numbers other than whole numbers which could be a mess.

I really enjoyed the tutorial of this game, but I haven't played it since because I'm concerned with the amount of time it will take to build proper decks. Seems like there are a LOT of cards to choose from and it might get tedious allocating them properly. Anyone have thoughts on this? I'm debating plopping down the 2 bucks to join the club but I'm not really looking for an in-depth deck building experience.

You can have lots of fun with this (for free) without having to worry too much about the decks. The decks (plus a ton of achievements) add more on top, once you're hooked. Recommend!

I felt that way in the beginning about deck building. As I played more though and I got used to the math, what I wanted as far as cards and numbers in my decks started to just gel in my mind.

I will say that I feel the two bucks for the membership is well worth the amount of time I have spent playing Calculords.

I'm having so much fun playing it so far that I haven't felt the need to mess with my decks too much. Sometimes I just change them around because I can. Play it for free and see if you like it; I already paid the $2 simply to show my appreciation.

I think I'll have to read the forums to figure out optimal card placement. However, so far it's been fun with the math and just placing cards based on their AP and HP values. Definitely feels like a game where you need to read up well beyond the barebones tutorial.

I find that the calculator buttons a very unresponsive on my iPad2, probably one of the worst game for that, I'm surprised to see it wasn't pointed out so maybe it's only on my device. Great game otherwise.

      1. homosaur

There are problems with control, it is not your device. You just have to be sort of deliberate in pushing buttons. It works once you get used to it.

Am I the only one who thinks the first screenshot looks like LEGO blocks?

I paid the $2 as others to show support to the developers! Well worth $2.

Wow I really enjoy this game. Love the challenge of math when it's not on a exam.

Bought every possible add on. Love this game. Hope to see more in the future added.

I paid the $2 "Fun Club" to support a great game--but so far, it hasn't felt grindy without paying a cent. It may reach that point, but I'm partway through the fights with the second enemy and have won every time on the first try (granted, the later battles have been long and difficult, but I didn't have to redo that--except a bit to level up and unlock new enemies, and I don't think the IAP is as much about that aspect anyway).
