Early last month we told you that Pixel Licker Games and FDG Entertainment’s Slayin ($0.99) was set to get a huge version 2.0 update that adds three brand new playable characters, and today we’ve received video of those characters in action. The lineup of new characters includes an Archer who can shoot arrows into the air, a Ninja with a teleporting move, and a Tamer who can actually tame and ride the enemies in the game and use them as offensive weapons. How cool is that? Check out the new heroes in the trailer below.

Slayin is easily among my favorite iPhone games, and if you haven’t checked it out previously you really should change that. It’s a simplified single-screen action platformer that has you battling increasingly difficult waves of baddies, leveling up as you go and improving your hero’s skills to face greater and greater challenges. Although it sounds simple on the surface, it’s surprisingly deep in terms of strategy, and the three original heroes all played wildly different from one another. The addition of three new heroes should really add to the already fantastic Slayin experience. Look for the Slayin version 2.0 update to hit next week on January 23rd.
