Well ahead of its console big brother which is set to be released on September 24th comes FIFA 14 [Free] for iOS devices. It’s a free 1.16GB download with two main types of IAP: In-game currency, and a single $5.99 unlock to shift the game into its “premium" mode which enables kickoff, tournament, and manager modes. So far it seems like a pretty simple payment model which is a breath of fresh air compared to Madden.
We’re still waiting to see if this is some sort of soft launch for the game and EA is waiting for the 24th to pull the “official" release lever or if it’s going to be available in all regions. I suppose we’ll see tonight if it’s available in the USA at 11:00 PM eastern or not.
