Sporting an overall sore of 78 on Metacritic, Sega’s House of the Dead: Overkill is on its way to mobile in the not too distant future. Like similar House of the Dead titles, gameplay revolves around mowing down loads of bloodthirsty zombies. This time around, Overkill explains the origin story, revealing the “horrific truth" behind the origins of the House of the Dead.

Reviews of the original Wii title mention an overall lack of diversity, which I suppose is somewhat expected in these kind of games, but Overkill is packed with all the ridiculous over the top B-movie zombie stuff that House of the Dead fans will love. Sega isn’t giving a release date any more specific than “April," nor a price, although they have mentioned that it will definitely not be free.
Also, as usual, we’ve got a thread in our forums if you want to discuss the game with other fans of the series.

I can't imagine playing this on iPhone. The world map and the ship look cool, but the game itself seems too small scaled.
I can't imagine playing this on anything let alone my iPhone.
Same here, i hope it will be available for ipad.
Yay! A zombie game that's not an FPS or endless runner that actually looks like it'll be playable for more than a couple times!
With a magnifying glass it will probably be playable ;)
We apologize that the video didn't show pinch and zoom features, we just got overly excited and released the limited video! :) The game will have pinch and zoom options the same way as shown in the world map screen. The zoom for missions is fairly reasonable for players to see enough of the action, but of course there's no doubt that it will look bigger on ipad. We are also implementing off-screen features where players can see where their team members are even while they are zoomed in.
love how the budget is realistic. Gives the player a sense of how expensive military equipment are.
Although not 100% accurate we've done a lot of military research and want to keep stats as realistic as playably possible.
It's like watching ants in my backyard
more like a ten story building. It's like looking down from the moon and seeing the great wall of china and even then, the great wall of china still has more detail.
I love watching ants in my backyard too, if only they weapons!
It seems like it is a "Set it and forget it" game. Looks cool I just hope that doesn't get boring.
The game will feature varied missions such as you'd expect - clearing outbreaks, rescuing survivors but will also feature more covert missions such as neutralising insurgents, securing zones and recovering weapons caches.
Tired of Zombies??? That's a joke right?
Maybe it will have a zoom feature. Cause like the it not playable on iPhone or iPad mini.
Yes, the game will have pinch-to-zoom controls, sorry if it wasn't included in the video :(
There is no way the dev would release this without the ability to zoom in and out. Right?
War of the Zombie has pinch/zoom capabilities in both tactical map and in-game missions :)
I hope is not one of those sad freemium game. Every freemium game on App Store is always the same stupid thing. Build this, wait one week I real life to the building is finished, or buy coins to speed up the process. These in game buyings is always more expensive than brand new game for console! When you have to wait, to be allowed to play, then it isn't a game.
Thank you for your honest feedback :) We are intending to offer WOTZ at a reasonable price and everyone will be able to solve the missions at their own pace. Every weapon or item needed for the missions can be acquired while playing the game and building up your team and arsenal.
How goes the process
Sounds like an instabuy! Any idea when I can give you some money?
For everyday this game takes ill slap a baby xD
Can't wait. Love the option to carry a katana!
Kinda remind me of xcom, can't wait
When is it coming out?
Suddenly its quiet
