Vivendi Games Mobile has submitted a port of their mobile game Virtual Villagers to the app store, which should be available shortly.
The teaser video intermixes gameplay video and rendered cut scenes but gives you the basic idea for the gameplay, which involves you exerting god-like influence on your villagers:
Pocketgamer.co.uk previously reviewed the mobile Java version of the game. The game starts with a bunch of castaways finding themselves on a desert island. You interact with villages through a disembodied hand:
At first your main goal is to simply set up shop and make sure everyone is fed and watered. You can pick up any villager you like, and by setting them down near an interactive object, such as a berry bush or water source, you can encourage them to try and use it. Cleverly if it’s a resource, such as food, they’ll continue to keep harvesting it – bring it back to the village – until you tell them to stop.
Apple has been quick with their App Store turnarounds, so we expect this one to show up quickly.
