Unless you’re absolutely crazy about free to play or love hearing analytics statistics, the Zynga press conference today didn’t have a whole lot to offer the “core" gaming audience. That is, aside from a curious announcement of a new partner program that includes some very familiar names.
Among the developers mentioned are typical social game companies like 50 Cubes and Portalarium, but also Rebellion, Konami, Phosphor Games, Atari, and Majesco which all have their own vast catalogs of more traditional games. Details are still a little vague on what each of these developers will be releasing under the Zynga flag, but it seems reasonable to think they might be taking a similar approach to Gree at E3 who had their own array of “hardcore" titles to supplement the typical free to play social timer game collection.
