Since launching on Netflix Games for iOS and Android, SNK has released a few updates for its excellent Samurai Shodown (Free) on mobile bringing in DLC and more. I kept waiting for controller support and the other DLC collaboration characters though. If you missed my review, read it here. As spotted by podzilla on our forums and verified by me as shown in the screenshot below, controller support for Samurai Shodown is in development on mobile. I can’t wait to see how this works out, and wonder why they can’t just let us play using the same controls as other platforms. Either way, I’m glad it is happening at some point in the future.
Despite its flaws, Samurai Shodown is a superb addition to Netflix’s gaming catalogue, assuming you don’t have another platform to play it on. A lot of the DLC has launched with more characters to follow in the coming months. If you have an active Netflix subscription, you can grab Samurai Shodown on the App Store for iOS here and on Google Play for Android here. You can check it out on Steam here or Nintendo Switch as well as Xbox Series X or PS4 (PS5 via backward compatibility). It is priced at $49.99 on Switch right now for the base game. Have you played Samurai Shodown before on PC, console, or mobile via Netflix?
