Today CDE Entertainment and Emerald City Games announced that their new game in the hallowed Tomb Raider series titled Tomb Raider Reloaded will finally be releasing following its original announcement back in the fall of 2020. This is a game developed explicitly for mobile and it features the classic-style Lara Croft in a forward-advancing, top-down shooting, roguelike-ish experience very very similar to the popular Archero. This also serves as a celebration of the entire Tomb Raider franchise which has been chugging along for more than 25 years, so you can expect to play through familiar locations and run into some familiar faces from throughout the series. Lara will also be voiced by Keeley Hawes who has voiced the hero numerous times before in games like Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and more. Here’s the Tomb Raider Reloaded trailer.
Interestingly, the press release for Tomb Raider Reloaded mentions that the game will be coming to iOS, Android, and also Netflix all on the same day. Presumably this means there will be a regular release on the iOS and Android app stores, as well as a special second version released just for Netflix subscribers. I know Netflix games have often been previously released mobile titles, but I can’t recall any actually launching the same day as their regular release counterparts. At any rate the Netflix version, just like all Netflix Games releases, won’t have any ads or IAP but you will need a Netflix subscription to play. Interested players can unlock special rewards by pre-registering ahead of the game’s planned February 14th release. iOS users can submit their email on the game’s website to pre-register, while Android players can do so directly on the Google Play Store.
