We learned back in July that Spiderweb Software’s latest game Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor would be heading to desktop platforms in August, which is exactly what happened, and at that time we were guessing that the iOS version of the game would come about 3 months later based on the release cycle of the first Queen’s Wish game that released back in 2019. Well, we were a month off with that guess, but thankfully in the more preferred direction. Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor will be arriving on iPhone and iPad devices on October 26th, just a hair longer than two months out from its desktop launch on August 24th. Here is a trailer showcasing all the adventures you’ll be facing in Queen’s Wish 2.
And yes, I did say iPhone devices in addition to iPad, which makes this just the second ever Spiderweb Software game to have iPhone support, with the first being the original Queen’s Wish. You can’t really blame them though, as Spiderweb’s brand of old-school PC-style RPGs really require a lot of screen real estate for lots of text and UI, and it’s not something that’s easily converted to an iPhone-sized screen. However, being that the Queen’s Wish games are more recent creations, as opposed to their previously released games on iPad which have all been ports of older games originally created for desktop, I think it affords them the opportunity to think of screen sizes during the actual development process instead of trying to shoehorn smaller screen support onto something after the fact.
I’m just rambling now, but the main point is that I’m excited for another Spiderweb game with iPhone support. If you are a fan of this developer’s games and enjoyed the original Queen’s Wish, then look forward to Queen’s Wish 2: The Tormentor when it arrives on iOS devices October 26th.
