Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for October 6th, 2021. The last couple of days have been pretty busy around here, and yesterday in particular had a lot of interesting new releases, news, and so on. Today feels like the morning after a typhoon. The skies are clear, and everything is pleasantly quiet. That means I don’t have a whole ton to share with you today, but I think that’s okay. The next couple of days are going to be pretty wild in their own right, so let’s just enjoy this lighter slice.
News
Cloud Versions of the ‘Kingdom Hearts’ Games Are Coming to Switch
The main news from Mr. Sakurai’s presentation was of course that Sora of Kingdom Hearts would be the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter. But there was other news in the presentation too. Some of it was the usual stuff about Mii Fighter costumes and Amiibos. But we also got some new game announcements! Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind are all coming to the Switch… as Cloud Versions. Understandable for Kingdom Hearts III, to be sure. A little less so for the others, but it is what it is. No word on release dates or prices yet. I guess it’s better than nothing?
Feel the Dread in the Next ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Event
This was a strange week for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but it is a Wednesday and that means we’ve got a new weekend event to talk about. Nothing stops the weekend event, it is known. And it’s a special one this time around, as it celebrates the impending release of Metroid Dread. It’s a Spirit Board event with three brand new Spirits up for grabs, drawn from the game. You’ve got five whole days to collect them, as the event kicks off on Friday and runs until Wednesday. You’ll also get bonus SP when you defeat these Spirits. Good luck!

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes ($39.99)

Well, well, well. If it isn’t my favorite LEGO game. Okay, so I do enjoy LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 for just how far out there it goes, but this right here is the real Marvel goodness. It has that good ol’ Marvel hoo-hah action with just about all the characters you could ask for. Big names like Spidey, Wolverine, Iron Man, Black Panther, the Fantastic Four, and Captain America. More obscure characters like Captain Britain, Howard the Duck, Iron Fist, and Squirrel Girl. Villains like Sandman, Magneto, Doctor Doom, and Thanos. Supporting cast members like Aunt May, J Jonah Jameson, Jane Foster, and Rick Jones. The main story sees the villainous Doom and the mischievous Loki joining forces on a wicked plot to take over the world. The heroes of Earth will have to combine their powers to put a stop to them, but the baddies have plenty of friends of their own. It’s good stuff. Lots of Spider-Man action. Some other heroes, too.

Hm, King’s Bounty II is on sale already. I won’t say it’s a great game, and it has some tech issues on the Switch, but past a certain price point it is certainly worth considering. Akiba’s Trip is on sale for I believe the first time, and Regency Solitaire has a pre-order discount happening. The outbox has quite a lot in it, including titles from Arc System Works, Dotemu, and Idea Factory. The Dotemu stuff in particular isn’t on sale that often, so if you want Windjammers or Ys Origins at a nice price, you know what to do.
