What’s going on in Nintendo’s mobile Mario Kart game Mario Kart Tour? Apparently, there is always something going on. I bounced off of this game pretty hard when it came out, and have tried a handful of times since then to “get into it" to no avail. However, I seem to be in the minority as Mario Kart Tour has grown a fairly large and engaged fanbase who are happy to gobble up the various new events and items that drop in the game on a regular basis. Good on you if that describes you! After teasing a new tour about a week ago, this week Nintendo has officially taken the wraps off of the new Summer Tour which kicked off yesterday and runs through July 14th. The big ticket items include a brand new course in the form of Cheep-Cheep Island from Mario Kart: Super Circuit on the Game Boy Advance, new character Swimwear Daisy, and the Sunny Surf Sailer kart.
Of course that’s not all as the Summer Tour is also an opportunity to earn some cool new gear as well as take advantage of various promotions that should help you gain some of the other gear and special items in the game. The Summer Tour also marks the beginning of what Nintendo is calling the Summer Celebration which will include this current tour as well as the next two tours and it will feature a bunch of special events and promotions that all tie into the summertime. If you’re one of those folks who lives somewhere where it’s winter right now instead of summer, well, think warm thoughts I guess. Even if that’s the case that shouldn’t prevent you from hopping into Mario Kart Tour right now and enjoying the virtual sunshine as you take part in the new Summer Tour festivities.
