Hideki Hanida is the creator of a seriously underrated gem in the tactical strategy genre, a game called MIYAMOTO ($2.99) that was released back in late 2018. It’s a small-scale board game blended with card game elements, but it’s not a traditional card battler or anything like that, and in fact it has more in common with a roguelike than anything. Despite a somewhat uneven difficulty balance, MIYAMOTO showcased a strong set of mechanics as well as a fantastic minimalist art style. Well now Hideki Hanida is back to build on that strong foundation with a brand new game called Fallen of the Round. This time around the stylized visuals are being traded in for hyper-realistic visuals that look to mimic the miniatures from tabletop RPGs. It’s a very convincing effect, as you can see in the following trailer.
Fallen of the Round looks to take some of the same streamlining elements of MIYAMOTO, but rather than a Solitaire-style board/card game this is more of a traditional dungeon crawler with a tabletop miniatures motif. Placement of your troops in battle will be a key strategy as you harness their different attributes and abilities, and you’ll be able to acquire new troops through victory which you can then upgrade and enhance to take on even more challenging battles as the game continues. The game’s description states that a variety of classes and skills will be available, and thoughtful combinations of the classes and their skills will determine the strength of your party. It all looks and sounds really awesome, and if you think so too then you can pre-order Fallen of the Round on the App Store right now for $2.99 and look for it to release on April 6th. In the meantime be sure to stop by the thread in our forums to discuss this one ahead of launch.
