A little while ago, Riot Games announced a plethora of new projects that included three new mobile games. Read about them here. The strategy card battler Legends of Runeterra that is set in the League of Legends universe, has already had closed beta tests. Over the weekend, Riot Games announced an open beta for the PC version of the game set to go live later this month. During the same announcement video that detailed many upcoming changes and additions to Legends of Runeterra, the team revealed a release window for the mobile version of the game. Watch the 2020 update video from Riot Games for Legends of Runeterra below:
As of now, Legends of Runeterra is planned for full release on both PC and mobile in the first half of 2020. This isn’t a firm release date obviously, but it is better than just 2020. The mobile version will have cross play with the PC version and both are aiming to launch together. As of now, the open beta is only for the PC version and it is set to begin on January 24th. I assume Riot Games will do some sort of test on mobile before launch. You can sign up for the open beta here on the official website. Pre-registrations are live on Google Play with an App Store pre-order page set to arrive in the future. Have you played the closed test for Legends of Runeterra on PC yet?
