TouchArcade Rating:

Fortnite (Free) Season 9 began earlier in the month with a new Battle Pass, new points of interest, and a lot more. Read about the big patch here. If you’ve been out of the loop with Fortnite for a while, you can play with 60fps gameplay on certain mobile devices now and full cross platform play is a reality. Today, Patch 9.10 arrives with it rolling out on all platforms already. After a few delays on patches for iOS, Epic Games comments on the delay asking iOS users to check the social channels for Fortnite for information when a patch is delayed since App Store updates can take a while to roll out. It is pretty disappointing form that iOS is the only platform where the patches have been delayed. Epic Games manages to have patches roll out on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch which are consoles that have their own certification on time but Apple is seemingly unable to let them schedule and release on time. Hopefully this is sorted going forward because you can’t actually login and play until you’re up to date in a game like this. Thankfully the patch 9.10 for iOS just showed up on the App Store.

The update today brings Hot Spots which see a higher loot rate on the map with an increase in supply drops. Hot Spots are marked with gold text on the map. Shooting down carriers will get you high quality weapons here. The limited time mode rotation will have Sniper Shootout Duos, Unvaulted Squads, and Close Encounters Squads on rotation. On the mobile side of things, the HUD has been removed when respawning and they have added an Exit button to Squad formation, playground match options, and the events screen.

If you do play Fortnite, we have a dedicated channel in our Discord. Make sure to join our Discord channel here to squad up and get some Victory Royales. If you’re curious about which Android devices can run Fortnite at 60fps, read this. What do you think of Season 9 so far?
