‘Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery’ Adds Year 4 Content, Increasing Chance Something Terrible Will Happen to You

TouchArcade Rating:

If you’ve stuck by Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery (Free) so far, it’s safe to say that you’re not only an unflappable Potterhead, but also that you probably are invested in getting your witch or wizard all the way to graduation. Wizard schools do have that, right?

The thing is, even if you followed all of our tips, you haven’t been able to get past Year 3, because, well, the later years weren’t in the game yet. We’re guessing your character just kind of hung around Hogwarts like magical versions of David Wooderson in Dazed and Confused.

However, that’s no longer a problem, because the latest Hogwarts Mystery update opens up Year 4 for your continuing witchcraft or wizardry pleasure. the first two chapters include things like being able to befriend noted dragon enthusiast Charlie Weasley and attend new classes such as Care of Magical Creatures.

Jam City also dropped off an infographic  via owl that showcases just how much players have accomplished in their first three years at Hogwarts to date. Also, since we didn’t keep playing the game all that much after finishing up our guide, we probably only helped with like 20 of those 3.1 billion house points, so … you’re welcome!

Also, we’re a little wary of Year 4 in general. Not to be Debbie Downers about it, but we can’t help but remember that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was his fourth year, and someone died in that one. So while we’re not saying that something bad is going to happen to your in-game character in this new content, we’re just saying there’s a precedent for it.

Eh, we’re probably just worrying for no reason. Go enjoy Year 4, because nothing terrible is going to happen. Probably.
