Potato-Filled Space Sim ‘Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?!’ Heading to iOS this Thursday for $6.99

In August of last year Daylight Studios launched their silly weapon shop simulation game Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! ($4.99) on iOS. It had you running your very own weapon shop and hiring potato smiths (Did I mention everyone in this world is a potato?) to forge all manner of weaponry which you’d then hopefully sell to questing adventurers. The game was pretty well-received when it launched on Steam way back in July of 2015, and the experience translated quite well to the touchscreen last year. Then Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! got even better when just last month Daylight launched the Spud Tales: Journey to Olympus DLC content for the game. But did you know that Daylight has multiple Holy Potatoes! games? It’s true, it’s like a series and stuff. They’ll be bringing their next game to mobile this Thursday, and it’s called Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?!

Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! launched on Steam just over a year ago and according to Daylight’s description you’ll “Play as potato sisters Cassie and Fay as they scour dozens of planets in a dynamic universe for their beloved grandfather, Jiji! Follow them on their quest and experience an engaging and ever-changing storyline with a diverse cast of lovable, anthropomorphic vegetables, which include some familiar faces! Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! is a whacky space exploration game where you manage your very own spaceship, craft hundreds of weapons, and explore the vastness of a veggie-filled universe." If you’re thinking this looks like FTL ($9.99) but with way more potatoes, I’m thinking you’re spot on. I have yet to play this one on other platforms myself, but after really enjoying Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! on mobile last year I’m happy to see this one making the jump to the mobile platform as well. This one drops on Thursday for $6.99 so keep your eyes to the sky (Get it? Because potatoes have eyes) for Holy Potatoes! We’re in Space?! on iOS later this week.
