It’s hard to believe that it’s been more than two years since developers Colin Lane and Folmer Kelly released Battle Golf (Free) to the App Store. Time sure does fly. The concept of Battle Golf was that two players are on opposite sides of the screen and are racing to hit their golf ball into the hole in the center of the screen before the other player can. To aid you in this endeavor you can actually launch your ball into the other person, temporarily dizzying them, or even hit their ball with your own and throw it off course. The game’s same-device multiplayer was an absolute riot, and far and away the biggest request I’ve seen for it was to add online multiplayer. Well, that’s where Battle Golf Online comes in.
It’s largely the same concept as the original but now you can play against others over the magic of the internet. That’s not all though, as if you’re Forever Alone™ you can now play against an AI opponent too, which is a nice step up from the original game’s fun-but-gets-old-quick score attack single-player component. Also there’s just a stupid amount of hats to unlock and wear because hats make every game better. I’m really excited to finally be able to get my butt handed to me by strangers over the internet when Battle Golf Online hits next Thursday, August 31st.
