Shot Online Golf: World Championship is the upcoming mobile version of the PC MMO Shot Online, and it’s opening its closed beta for iOS and Android players today. This real-time multiplayer game has you buying and upgrading clothes and clubs in single player missions to improve your stats and your skills, playing event matches—which include longest drive competition, nearest hit competition, and putting competition—and challenging opponents in 1v1 real-time matches, where you and your opponent can place bets.
Between Shot Online Golf and Sony’s Everybody’s Golf, it’s a good time for mobile golfing. Although, to be honest, all I want on my phone is something like Mario Golf from N64, a simple, well-made multiplayer golf game. If you want to apply for the beta, go here.
