The iOS platform is a haven for point and click adventures, a genre which works exceedingly well on the touchscreens of mobile devices. This Wednesday one of the more critically acclaimed point and clicks on Steam is making its way over to mobile. The Little Acre from Pewter Games Studio and published by Curve Digital is set in 1950s Ireland and revolves around a man named Aidan and his daughter Lily. While searching for his missing father, Aidan finds himself transported to a strange new world, and Lily then sets out to help find him. The game is fully voice-acted and you’ll take turns controlling both Aidan and Lily during their adventure.
As you can see, the animation in The Little Acre is exquisite, and harkens back to the Golden Age of animation with its colorful characters and hand-drawn environments. The game was also co-developed with Charles Cecil, who has worked on a couple of classic adventure games you may have heard of before called Broken Sword and Beneath a Steel Sky. Yeah, that’s some pedigree right there. The Little Acre also has extremely positive reviews on Steam, so I’m pretty excited to give the game a spin on mobile as its my platform of choice. Look for The Little Acre this Wednesday.
