After a soft launch in a couple of countries last week to make sure everything worked well, Flat Black Films’ Lowlander 2: Lowerlander ($2.99), is out now, and officially in competition for the best game name of 2017. This is the sequel to Lowlander ($1.99), which despite its primitive looks was quite the fun Ultima 2-inspired RPG. It’s not exactly going to win any best visuals awards, and still looks like something that could have existed three decades ago, but if you like expansive RPGs in the Ultima tradition, this is the game for you!
You’ll have to take down the evil enchantress, Yarak, in a world with at least eight colors! You’ll be able to use cloud saves for the campaign, which promises over 16 hours of gameplay, and special effects for the water and lava. It looks like it’s got some depth for those who like old, old school RPGs, so if you’re intrigued, check it out and get into the forum thread for the game. I’m sure Shaun’s gonna have a lot to say about this one at some point.
