Daisuke Amaya’s Kero Blaster ($2.99) is one of those games that just seems to get better every time I go back to it. It’s hard to believe the game is more than three years old now, but there it is. Equally surprising is the fact that the game has not once gone on sale before on iOS. Well, streaks are meant to end, I suppose. For the next few days, you can nab Kero Blaster at a significantly discounted price.
In Kero Blaster, you play as a Master of Custodial Services for the Cat & Frog Teleporter company. You have to travel to various locations to clean up the strange black creatures that are infesting them. How do you do that? Through good old-fashioned shooting action, of course! It’s a grand side-scrolling shooter in the classic style, and the developer really found a way to make the controls work. You can indulge in more details in our extensive review of the game, or check out the free demos/side-stories Pink Hour (Free) and Pink Heaven (Free) to see how you take to the gameplay.
The sale on Kero Blaster runs through May 14th, and I rather doubt it will be on sale again anytime soon. So if you’ve been waiting for a cheaper price for this excellent game, now is the time. The game was updated after the 64-bit requirement went into effect, but keep in mind that it’s not a Universal build, so if you’re playing it on iPad, you’ll have to deal with the zooming. It still plays very well, though. All in all, it’s a brilliant game, and one that should be in the collection of any side-scroller fan.
Note: The price change might take a little while to show in this article, but I assure you, the game is on sale at this very moment.
