We’re Streaming iOS Games Live on Mobcrush [Switch Saturday]

There’s a couple different ways you can watch the stream, and they all work equally well and it’s really just a matter of personal preference as to which method you prefer. The easiest way to watch is just watching the embedded player right here on TouchArcade. In the interest of being polite, we mute the audio. If you’re somewhere you can listen, be sure to turn it back up- the controls for that are in the lower right corner of the video stream. Alternatively, if you’re on a mobile device, download the free Mobcrush app for iOS (Free), also available on Google Play. From there, search for TouchArcade. If you follow us, you’ll get alerts when we’re streaming. Last, but not least, you can visit our channel directly in your browser at mobcrush.com/toucharcade. Oh, and if you want to participate in chat, you’ll need to register over on Mobcrush first.

If you missed the stream, we upload archive videos to our YouTube channel, so just head over there to see previous streams and our other random video content. Additionally, if you would like to stream on Mobcrush, it’s actually supremely easy and doesn’t require any kind of extra hardware and the software to do it is a quick (and free) download.           1. If you have some free time and you wanna do something productive with it than you must read that. Everyone needs money but is there any safe and authentic way to do it online.   7. Eli, I used to watch all your streams on Twitch, and I look forward to watching these too. However, who streams at 10:30 AM in the morning, man? For goodness sake, at least let us know ahead of time, in the future! That’d be much appreciated!

    1. There’s timezones. I’m happy he’s streaming at several different times, so I can also tune in from Europe.

      1. Yes but even when he streamed via Twitch, I used to be able to watch at around 3/3:30 EST. I just hope a schedule is posted for future streams is all.

    2. Once we get everyone onboard that’s going to be streaming we’re going to have a more solid schedule. Right now we’re sort of testing the waters and streaming when we can. In the not too distant future we’re going to have seven different people streaming games.

  9. How is the Don’t Starve frame rate? It looks a little dicey and I can’t tell if that’s a Mobcrush thing?

    1. Seems fine, iOS video capture is always kind of jank regardless of what service or program you’re streaming to or capturing with because you’re always hamstrung by the ridiculous way Apple decided to do their video output versus the far more sensible Android approach of just having a straight HDMI out. iOS captured video is almost never representative of what it’s like to actually play something, which really sucks.

      1. Oh I wasn’t talking trash or anything… The stream looked fine. I guess some of the animations look like they have removed frames. (Which I could understand in the port translation…) but it would be a little shame. I love how the game moves on PC / PS4.

        1. No, I know, it’s just always kind of annoying that YouTube and everyone else is moving towards supporting 60fps video and it’s just impossible to do from Apple devices.

    1. You should see Shou. And you have to plug your device into a Mac anyways, so it’s not like it’s that easy for kids to broadcast.

  16. Watched Andrew Fretz play Hearthstone. First time I saw it being played. He made it fun by allowing commenters to vote for cards. I really like the Mobcrush steaming.

      1. I never watched twitch streaming much. And I’m not into card games, including Hearthstone. I saw that there was streaming going on on Mobcrush and checked it out just out of curiosity.

  19. I hope Mobcrush gets a little more stable when they release it. It works fine on my mobile devices, but when I have it open in Safari, my many video/graphics editing apps and other Safari tabs don’t seem to work as well. It’s weird.

    1. But for some reason when I went out of a stream it kept playing and then I tried to start another stream and could hear them both. I bet that will get sorted though.

      1. Mobcrush is really cranking out new builds and new features on a very aggressive schedule. I feel like every time I open up the client I am updating to a new version, thanks for watching!

  20. Hate to be the party pooper but could you not have these videos auto stream? I visit TA for the great articles but lately the pages take a long time to load because these videos auto stream on the main page.

    1. It was Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. I’ll be streaming more of it in the future!

    1. After like 2-3 more online plays of Hearthstone maybe! Sadly if it is not that, little chance of seeing any love from TA since they have to write an article about it everyday…sometimes 3 times in a day!

    When I open up this article (and maybe others about Mobcrush) in the TA app, it opens up the Mobcrush app automatically. Not sure if that’s intentional, but I’d say it’s not a good option.

    After reading the Angry Birds 2 review, I’m looking forward to seeing it on the stream. I’ve never gotten much into the series, and would like to watch you guys play since you actually know what you’re doing.

  33. Mobcrush? Should just use Twitch. And “mobile exclusive” sounds like paid marketing. Twitch is on mobile and allows streaming games from any platform..

  34. Mobcrush is way better than twitch. The app is still in beta and when it’s all done you will be able to stream from all platforms. Also with mobcrush you can watch streams on demand if you miss it live. Pretty sure you can’t do that with twitch. Mobcrush ftw!

    2. Twitch has had a “watch past broadcasts” feature forever, works on mobile devices and even things like FireTV and such.

      Mobcrush sucks in comparison to Twitch.

  37. You dudes need to allow some customization of news feeds in your app so the user can specify which kinds of articles they see. If I had the ability, I would instablock:
    — Mobcrush streaming non articles
    — all references to Warhammer
    — notifications that you came out with a new podcast episode (if I were interested in the podcast I’d get the new episode automatically)

  39. Every time I click on the Mobcrush posts, it gives an error saying “The URL can’t be shown.” This frustrated me for a moment, but then I realized that I DONT CARE THAT YOU’RE STREAMING ON MOBCRUSH.

    So I’m totally cool with the error message.

  50. ATTENTION SOMEBODY — This is the only article I can comment on. Every recent article does not allow me to comment from the app (I read that it is an issue with others too). So I tried commenting from the website, but I can’t figure out how to actually submit it. On the website, I can type my comment into the box, but there is not “post” or “submit” button to actually post the comment. Can someone explain how to do it from the website. It would be very appreciated. Thanks.

    1. Same here, it won’t let me download it anymore. I had it last year but now it’s a no go? Why it just be a normal app on the App Store??

  58. And yet again and again, you guys live stream on the main page which always slows down the site. Can’t you just have a static image on the main page instead and the actual live stream once you click on the article?

  60. Sadly this is maybe 1 of 3 games in almost 8 years that I have requested a refund. I watched the vids and read the reviews but there really is no RPG element to it. If you were able to keep your items, health buffs, or even pick 1-2 items to keep when you died that would give it an element of an RPG. Right now it is just a normal super hard rouge like game (which I new it had those qualities coming in). Can’t even shoot diagonally…gees lol
