Clever-Plays’ inventive roguelike shooter Leap of Fate ($3.99) is currently on its first sale on iOS. Available for $1.99, 50% off its standard price for $3.99 on mobile (and it costs more than that on PC), this is the first change to the game period since its release back in August 2016. The game works fine, the one thing I wish it would get are MFi controls, though aspects like slow-motion to aim special abilities help adapt this one well for the mobile experience.
This is a game that I still like to come back and play occasionally, even after Binding of Isaac: Rebirth ($14.99) finally graced mobile. The card-based system for levels brings some interesting randomness to the table, with a great risk-reward system in play. The different characters have some interesting variations to them. Plus, with the one permanent currency, it balances out playing for long-term gains, by building up your resources for revivals down the road on good runs, while giving you opportunities to spend on things you might need right now. It’s an interesting game, and for $1.99, it’s well worth checking out. Also, it has giant eyeball dudes.

I won't bother with creating a NZ account, but I'll probably try it when it's released in the US. I wonder if this could tear my wife away from Fire Emblem Heroes, though.
I've been fiddling with it for a bit, it seems pretty sterile so far unless you're REALLY into FFXV.
Heard this might be coming. I had hoped it would be scrapped and they might make an actual tie-in game instead of a cash-grab. Money wins again.
To be fair it seems to play super similar to all the other empire builders I've tried which are totally possible to play for free.
Personally, I don't really consider what's done in these types of apps as playing, per se. Maybe light entertainment or distraction for free users. But bet those FFXV fans who are also whales will have a lot of fun spending money!
Remember when a tie in could be a sequel or a side story(you know what game I'm thinking of....) or spinoff could turn off great like the Dissidia games, when this mobile nonsense was not even a thing.I miss those times.
It's not in the new Zealand app store?.... Keeps coming back as not available maybe take the link down until it actually shows up?
Hmmmm,
It's April 1 over in NZ, right?
Anyone able to find this on the App Store yet?
It's in the Canadian app store but being a FF fan I won't touch it even with a ten foot pole, those are not mmos and they are a disgrace to the FF name,it's the 30th anniversary why not re release or update Tactics instead?!Also maybe because of XII re release remaster the other...forgotten part......Vagrant Story(I have it on ps3 but still save your legacy). Those mobiles titles need to stop(also Sakaguchi I don't care about your mobile franchise come back to the gamers),SE what happened to you,I no longer recognize the company I love for so much time and give me some of the best games I ever played.
