Handelabra Games has given us the ever-expanding Sentinels of the Multiverse ($6.99) port, but now it’s changing directions a bit and plans to bring Bottom of the 9th, a baseball dice and card game, to mobile. Bottom of the 9th is a two-player game that focuses on the tension of the final three outs of a baseball game and packs all that excitement into short, 5-20 minute game sessions. Players have different strengths, so you have to use them wisely, and the game offers opportunities to try and bluff the opponent into swinging the wrong way. And, of course, the added randomness of dice will ensure the game is always a bit unpredictable.
The game offers many different player powers, the opportunity to vary your line-up considerably, and more, which should all add up to a quick but fun 1v1 game. The physical game has two expansions, so there’s the possibility of more content coming down the line. Handelabra Games has shown it can develop great ports, so I’m curious to see how Bottom of the 9th will look once it lands on mobile.
